LÖNNSTRÖM COMPLETES MONKHOOD IN THAILAND

Yesterday Mika Lönnström completed his Monkhood in the Big Mountain Temple in Nakhon Ratchasima.

He spent 15 days living the life of a monk, which included daily meditation and other peaceful practices.

Following his departure from the Temple, Lönnström said: "This was a fantastic experience that I will always remember. I have learned new ways to find calmness and concentration, which are essential for working in sport and in daily life.

"I would like to thank everyone at the Temple who made we feel very welcome and made my experience so great."

Lönnström also expressed his thanks to Sompob Pimmanee, a Police United FC fan, who biked all the way from Bangkok just to visit him at the Temple.

"His effort to come see me is a great example of how a coach and his fans can form such a strong bond through football," said Lönnström. "Sompob will always be a life-long friend of mine and I hope to see him again soon."
